Perry Sexton, MD

Dr. Sexton grew up in Redlands, California where his pastimes included athletics and music. Instilling a goal oriented attitude that is reflected in his approach with his patients, encouraging them to be proud of who they are and always strive to improve themselves. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Sonoma State University. He attended Loma Linda University where he attained his Doctor of Medicine (MD). He trained in emergency medicine and family practice at Yale and The University of Pennsylvania respectively. He is licensed in California, and holds dual Board certifications from the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Sexton is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Sexton's enthusiasm and reputation for encouraging patient education is well recognized by his colleagues and patients. He has appeared several times on NBC morning news demonstrating his passion for improving community health through lifestyle education. Dr. Sexton's Three-Step Diet Plan was adopted by the city of Philadelphia as a strategy to combat the growing problem of obesity in their community in 2006.

Dr. Sexton values time spent with his patients educating them and breaking down information that is easy to understand, using a white board. Dr. Sexton has made it his mission to offer a new style of healthcare to those who feel intimidated or confused by the current medical system. He has created an atmosphere that is as relaxing as a day spa. He offers hope to those who find themselves overburdened with medications and overwhelmed by confusing diagnoses. He is eager to offer understandable explanations, instruction on how to improve medical conditions, and compassionate support on the path to healing. Evidence and faith, medication as well as motivation, are all principles that Dr. Sexton has embraced through his experiences.

In his personal life, Dr. Sexton loves the ocean and enjoys scuba diving. His family and friends continue to be his support and top priorities. He enjoys expressing his creativity in writing and comedy. He hopes one day perform as a stand-up comic. Until then, laughter remains his preferred medicine. Thankfully, there is still no co-payment for it!
